Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Infrastructure Administrator to join our IT team. This role is responsible for supporting end-users, maintaining IT systems, and assisting in the administration of network, server, and Active Directory infrastructure. The ideal candidate will combine strong troubleshooting skills with foundational knowledge of network, identity management, and system administration to ensure reliable and secure IT services for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

End-User Support & Help Desk (Approx. 50%)

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
  • Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely manner, meeting defined SLAs
  • Assist with onsite troubleshooting, equipment setup, and hardware/software installations
  • Perform new user onboarding tasks, including account creation, permissions, and workstation setup
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and recurring issues to support continuous knowledge base improvement

Network, Systems & Active Directory Administration (Approx. 50%)

  • Collaborate with the other Infrastructure admin on:
  • Monitoring and maintaining switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks
  • Performing basic network troubleshooting, VLAN assignments, and port configurations
  • Monitoring network health, bandwidth usage, and connectivity
  • Monitor and respond to system security and network alerts, escalating as necessary
  • Assist in Active Directory and Azure AD administration, including:
  • User and group management, provisioning/deprovisioning, and access control
  • Group Policy creation, updates, and troubleshooting
  • DNS and DHCP maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Supporting AD Connect and hybrid identity environments
  • Assist with PowerShell scripting for automation, reporting, and bulk management tasks
  • Participate in infrastructure projects, system upgrades, disaster recovery, and IT documentation efforts

Additional Expectations

  • Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism with all staff
  • Maintain accurate asset and configuration documentation for IT hardware, software, and AD environment
  • Collaborate with IT team members to continuously improve IT processes and security posture
  • Stay current on emerging IT technologies, identity management, and security best practices

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and basic networking
  • Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, GPO management, and authentication protocols (Kerberos, NTLM, LDAP)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with network devices (switches, firewalls, VPNs) and monitoring tools
  • Exposure to Azure AD, AD Connect, MFA, and hybrid identity solutions
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800/801), Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300), Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900), or equivalent are a plus or the ability to get them
