Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Engineer to join our IT team. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our organization's network infrastructure, servers, and Active Directory (AD) environment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep technical knowledge of enterprise IT systems and a proactive approach to system optimization and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • User Support:
    • Provide prompt and effective technical support to end-users across multiple manufacturing sites.
    • Troubleshoot network and active directory issues, resolve technical problems, and escalate issues when necessary.
    • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent communication and support services.

  • Network Infrastructure Management:
    • Manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
    • Ensure network reliability, scalability, and performance while optimizing costs.
    • Implement network solutions including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure.
    • Plan and execute network upgrades and designs.
    • Conduct regular network performance tests and provide recommendations for improvements.
    • Collaborate with third-party vendors to maintain network hardware and software.

  • Active Directory
    • Maintain and optimize Active Directory, including Group Policy Management, DNS, and DHCP.
    • Configure and Manage LDAP policies
    • Continuously improving existing Active Directory architecture
    • Maintain Entra ID and local domain controller synchronization
    • Manage and oversee integrations and configurations of business systems
    • Ensure user access and permissions are properly maintained

  • Server Management
    • Configure, deploy, and maintain physical and virtual servers (e.g., Hyper-V).
    • Manage server operating systems (Windows/Linux).
    • Perform system backups, disaster recovery planning, and testing.
    • Monitor server health, performance, and resource utilization.

  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed network documentation, including configuration, diagrams, and policies.
    • Generate reports on network performance, security incidents, and other relevant metrics.
    • Provide technical support and training to junior staff.

  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with other IT team members to ensure seamless integration of network services.
    • Communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to explain network issues and solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in network engineering
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and technologies (e.g., Cisco switches, Barracuda Firewalls).
  • Strong experience with network security practices and tools (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory management and Group Policy.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
