SUMMARY

Plans and conducts activities concerned with the quality control and quality assurance of industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Leads and directs Quality Improvement Projects to help achieve company Quality goals.
  • Leads and facilitates the APQP process including; Part level Quality Planning, Control Plans, and PPAP activities
  • Develops, initiates and trains standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Leads Corrective Action activities and reporting on all customer rejections using Quality tools to effectively determine Root Cause and closure.
  • Investigate internal Quality problems, analyze data, determine root cause, and implement corrective action to reduce loss and improve output.
  • Participate in Quality System Audits, reviews Audit results, and reports Audit findings.
  • Leads Corrective Action process to address Audit findings.
  • Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component.
  • Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.
  • Documents data obtained during all quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
  • Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality activities.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.
  • Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality activities
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum 2 years quality engineering experience within a manufacturing environment

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or similar field

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

High level of proficiency using spreadsheet applications such as Excel, including the use of pivot
