Morton Industries is hiring for a 3rd shift Braze Operator! Morton also pays a 15% shift premium!

SUMMARY

Performs acetylene welding operations of a diversified nature using the brazing process. Working with general supervision welds, cuts, bends, melts, or silver solders a variety of ferrous and nonferrous materials and alloys to fabricate or repair parts, materials and equipment in conformance with exacting requirements. Interprets prints, sketches, or other specifications, lay out and sets up work, determines operational sequences and devises suitable holding fixtures. Selects welding rod of appropriate size and composition proper tip and pressures for gas welding and proper current settings for arc welding. Able to vary procedures and techniques according to nature of work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Welds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes.
  • Performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
  • Repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases size of metal parts.
  • Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
  • Determines proper weld requirements from prints, drawings, and other instructional media.
  • Regulates current and voltage for proper penetration and fusion of materials
