Position Summary:

Morton Industries seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Specialist to join our team. As a Cyber Security Specialist, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization’s digital assets and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information. While also playing a critical role in maintaining the security and stability of our systems by ensuring timely deployment of software patches and updates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scan network devices for vulnerabilities then categorize and address based on risk.
• Develop a process to patch endpoints and report on compliance.
• Maintain antivirus versions and updates on endpoints.
• Monitor security alerts and incidents, investigating and responding to potential threats.
• Complete vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices.
• Create, maintain, and update security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Support incident response efforts and contribute to security incident reports.
• Stay informed about emerging cyber threats and industry trends.
• Help with overflow programming work.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field with an emphasis on Cyber Security
• Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are a plus.
• Proficient with C, C++, Java, C#, python is a plus
