- Under general supervision, oversees workflow of day-to-day duties of the school health office; performs a variety of clinical and clerical functions as assigned by the school registered nurse to optimize a positive learning environment for students and staff. Responsibilities will vary according to the school health program and the school's medical needs.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
H.S. Diploma/GED in required if work is performed in a moderately complex CLIA lab
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Current CMA certification for Certified Medical Assistant from AAMA, NCCT, AMT or NHA upon hire and Driver's License when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons upon hire.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Previous clinical experience in a medical office preferred. Computer data entry experience

- Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position

Responsibilities
- Clinical Excellence/Patient Care� Serves as the primary point of contact for students needing health assistance and maintains good working relationships with students, parents, staff members, and administration.� Provides care to students by possessing knowledge and skills necessary to perform various clinical tasks, and reporting illnesses/injuries to parents and the school nurse as warranted.� Assists school nurse with administering daily medication to students prescribed by the Primary Care Provider, as delegated and in accordance with the written policy.� Maintain student immunization and health records, along with class lists.� Review Emergency/Medical History forms for completeness and appropriateness of information.� Monitors and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of school compliance for immunizations, physicalexaminations, and vision/hearing screenings. Reports all non-compliance cases to registered nurse and/or building principal in a timely manner.� Enters and maintains accurate student health information in the computerized student information management system.� Promptly and appropriately charts all student visits.� Provide prompt, adequate, and competent first aid services for students as needed.� Prepares and/or performs health screenings as assigned
- Physical Environment of Care� Ensures the health office is well-maintained and functional.� Possess knowledge about the safety policies of the school health program, as well as the establishedpolicies and procedures of the organization and the school district.� Actively participates in cleaning and disinfecting the health office.
