The overall objective of the department in which this position works is:

Provide authentic Maui Jim Prescription Sunglasses to optical retailers and provide outstanding customer service and support throughout the world.

The major functions of this position is:

To maintain and repair the equipment and machines. Performing preventative maintenance as well as reactionary maintenance in when needed . Coordinate with Facilities regarding building maintenance.

Hourly Rate of Pay: $24.00

Shift Differential: $2.00
3rd Shift: (Sunday through Thursday) 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM

The essential responsibilities and duties of this position are:

• Maintain and repair the machines and equipment.

• Maintain preventative maintenance program.

• Maintain and or update Standard Operating Procedures for all maintenance duties on all machines.

• Work with Facilities regarding building maintenance and needs.

• Become familiar with lab operating system (Visionstar)

• Maintain lab software to fit our changing needs.

• Continuing education with manufacturers on maintenance of equipment and troubleshooting, Troubleshoot and identify corrective action for delays with workflow.

• Work with all departments within the Lab to determine their equipment needs.

• Perform other duties as outlined and directed by the Lab Manager on a day-to-day basis.

Special Physical Requirements:

• Ability to communicate with small groups

• Ability to use a PC terminal.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to read equipment maintenance and operating manuals.

Desired Qualifications

A As a guide, indicated below is the preferred education and experience for this position:

2+ years Rx knowledge in an optical manufacturing environment. Ability to work on machines following the manufacturers guidelines.

B Listed below are the particular skills preferred for this position:

• Very strong mechanical knowledge

• Very strong optical knowledge.

• Dependable, responsible, high integrity.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must display courtesy and tact in handling employees.

• Must have the ability to work in an organized fashion and meet deadlines. Good planning/scheduling/coordinating skills necessary.

• Microcomputer experience.

• Ability to identify cost savings opportunities.
