The major function of this position is:

Collaborate in developing, implementing, delivering, and evaluating training programs and materials for our global sales ambassadors and retail partners, ensuring consistency in delivery and format..

Location: Peoria, IL; Hybrid work schedule - 4 days in office/1 day remote

Essential Duties:

  • Conduct training sessions using various formats (e.g., seminars, workshops, webinars, e-learning).
  • Assist in the preparation and creative enhancement of training materials and resources.
  • Design visually appealing presentations, handouts, and digital assets to support training initiatives.
  • Create and maintain engaging educational materials on Maui Jim products, sales techniques, and initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive learning solutions for Brand Ambassadors and Retail Partners, using a blended learning approach
  • Facilitate and continuously update the global Brand Ambassador new hire training program and manage Brand Ambassador continual training schedule for NAM
  • Travel to assist Brand Ambassadors with learning transfer and facilitate in-person training events for Retail Partners (50-70% travel)
  • Manage multiple training initiatives, including project plans, vendor management and training resources.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and implement improvements based on data and feedback
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate their expertise into impactful learning experiences
  • Coordinate training creation and delivery through internal and external learning management systems (LMS)
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in optical technologies and training and development
  • Additional training and development responsibilities as requested.

Qualifications and Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field
  • 3+ years of training and development experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the eyewear industry
  • Proficiency with Articulate, Canva, Camtasia, podcasts, and video editing software
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPLP, ATD certifications)
  • Possess a foundational understanding of business operations across diverse optical settings, including but not limited to:
    • Brand Ambassador/Outside sales
    • Ophthalmic practices
    • Optical retail stores
    • Clinical optical environments
    • Specialty sunglass shops
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
