Compensation: $20-$28 DOE

Schedule: Sunday Night- Friday Morning

Overview of role:

Facility Maintenance Technician II performs maintenance tasks and troubleshoots for building systems and equipment. This role involves taking a more proactive approach to facility maintenance, including diagnosing complex issues, making repairs, and performing routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. The technician may also mentor junior staff and assist in the planning and executing of facility improvement projects.

Key Deliverables:

  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Oversee routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure facility systems function correctly.
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Manage and monitor tools, equipment, and supplies inventory to ensure availability for maintenance needs.
  • Mentor and train junior technicians, providing guidance and ensuring high-quality work standards.
  • Lead or assist in the implementation of facility improvement or upgrading projects.
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with safety regulations and facility standards.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and effectively.
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Proven ability to independently troubleshoot and repair complex facility systems.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with experience guiding less experienced technicians.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize maintenance needs effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members, management, and vendors.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Technical certifications in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, or other related fields (e.g., EPA, CFC, or Journeyman certifications).
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Previous experience in facility management or a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Technology Requirements:

  • Proficiency in computer systems for maintenance, logging, reporting, and scheduling.
  • Experience using facility management software (CMMS) for tracking maintenance activities and managing work orders.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems using diagnostic tools and equipment.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks, such as climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
  • Valid driver’s license, with the ability to travel to multiple facility locations if needed.
  • Willingness to continue professional development and stay current with the industry’s best practices and technologies.
