Position: EHS Coordinator
Shift: 1st Shift (8 hours)
Compensation: Salary $50,000-$60,000 K, depending on Years of Experience

Overview of Role:

The safety coordinator will develop and implement workplace safety programs to prevent accidents, injuries, and illnesses by conducting inspections, identifying hazards, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of EHS regulations and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship.

Key Deliverables:

  • Create, develop, and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to educate employees on safe practices and emergency procedures.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
  • Ensure the organization adheres to local, state, federal, and industry safety regulations and standards.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, including incident reports, inspection logs, training documentation, and safety data sheets.
  • Inspect, maintain, and ensure the availability and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Prepare and present safety-related reports and data to management, outlining findings and recommendations.
  • Work with management and department heads to update safety protocols and foster a culture of safety.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in an EHS management role, preferably within manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations, safety management systems, and environmental compliance.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Certification in EHS-related fields (e.g., Safety Trained Supervisor (STS), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), OSHA 500/511 is highly desirable.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental management, Occupational Health, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of risk management tools and techniques.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Experience with EHS software and reporting tools (e.g., Intelex, Industry Safe, Enablon, etc.).

Technology Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with EHS software systems for reporting and tracking (e.g., Intelex, Enablon, SAP EHS).
  • Familiarity with environmental monitoring tools and safety equipment.
  • Ability to work with data analysis tools for tracking incidents, hazards, and EHS performance metrics.

  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying risks and implementing solutions.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational standards and policies.
