• The engineer will have a higher-level role in writing test procedures and plans.
• The engineer will also interpret test results and technician work tasks.
• The engineer will have a cross functional communication with circuit designers, software and system engineers.
• The engineer will be responsible to drive completion of projects and test plans in a timely manner.
• Participate in writing of test specifications and test reports.
• Read product requirements and technical specifications
• Work with team to gather specifications for items which are unclear.
• Run tests listed on test plans according to the test procedures.
• Document test results, pass/fail observations and measurements
• Hands on testing of batteries which typically weigh between 10 and 100KG
• This testing requires large capital equipment and frequent interaction with cross functional team.
• Test BMS Battery Management System functionality to ensure that design is correct.
• This testing is usually on a benchtop with a circuit board and a cluster to test equipment.
• This testing requires strong hands on skills to debug and diagnose real vs setup problems.

Specific Skills:

• Knowledge of battery systems, Lithium Ion BMS experience is beneficial
• Knowledge of Vehicle or Industrial Control networks CAN, CAN J1939, CAN Open
• Ability to use standard electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, power supplies
• Ability to use task tracking and ticketing systems such as Jira
