Job Overview

The Commercial Analyst will support the Surface Haulage Business Unit by gathering and analyzing data on pricing, sales and margin trends, and market conditions for Electric Drive Trucks. This role will be responsible for preparing key financial reports and presentations, along with providing essential insights and improvement opportunities, to the Executive Leadership team.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Support the Commercial team by assembling department presentations and updates for use by Senior Management. Create and maintain a variety of reports for distribution.
  • Prepare weekly financial reports for the Surface Haulage Business Unit (SHBU) related to new bookings, shipping updates, and production schedule changes.
  • Compile monthly financial reports to monitor Electric Drive Truck (EDT) backlog, sales, and consolidated margins for Mining equipment.
  • Assist Senior Manager of the Commercial with preparing the monthly and quarterly Sales Outlooks for EDT.
  • Prepare financial reports on a quarterly basis for the Finance group including, but not limited to, Mining Sales by Mineral, Price Realization, and Risk/Opportunity Reports.
  • Reconcile margin analysis monthly by reviewing EDT invoices, accruals, and applicable support packages. Work with Accounting to ensure journal entries for deferrals/revenue recognition on machines/attachments are recorded appropriately.
  • Develop slides covering new orders, market share, key pursuits, and financial results as needed for Management for upcoming meetings.
  • Attend weekly Sales & Operations meetings and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Update Producer Price Index & International Price reporting for the Bureau Labor of Statistics (BLS).
  • Assist with internal ISO audits and external KPMG audits to comply with policies and accounting standards.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of business experience in a Commercial or Marketing function, or equivalent administrative experience.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, along with excellent business acumen.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated success in being able to collaborate with other departments including Product Management, Sales, & Finance.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
