Job Overview

The role is responsible for driving business growth in new areas with job focus ranging from competitive strategy creation, business analysis, partner acquisition, and technical/commercial feasibility analysis to help Komatsu achieve its business objectives. This role collaborates with internal Product Management, Engineering groups, and other key stakeholders to contemplate needs related to core products and other business imperatives.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Develops initial solution concepts aligned with growth objectives for analysis
  • Identifies potential new business models or opportunities
  • Scouts technologies for evaluation
  • Identifies opportunities for partnerships or collaboration with 3rd party solution, product, or service providers
  • Maintains central library of opportunities
  • Drives the preliminary technical and commercial assessments of solutions, technologies, and partners
  • Develops strategy for driving business growth in areas of focus
  • Maintains alignment with key internal stakeholders with respect to needs related to existing products and activities in new business areas
  • Prepares business plans for new business areas and seek approvals
  • Drives program(s) to develop approved solution/products/service initiatives, including all program documentation such as vision, scope, charter, and others
  • Work with external partners or internal groups to drive programs forward with clear business requirements, roles & responsibilities.
  • Ensure that all business initiatives are properly supported with appropriate legal instruments

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Business or Engineering degree or commensurate related experience in mining or industry/energy sector.
  • >10 years relevant experience in mining, technology, engineering, product management, partner/business development experience preferred.
  • Strong commercial / business development / strategy skills.
  • Experience in partner development/management preferred.
  • Proven ability to influence across multiple functions.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
