The Position: We are looking for a Process Metallurgist in the Rod Mill who will work closely with quality, operations, and maintenance to ensure that optimum levels of performance are achieved for process control and product conformance to requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Rod Mill to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities in throughput, yield, safety, and other key areas.
• Lead or participate in teams addressing these issues.
• Function as the primary resource in application of improvement methods. Champion the concept of Continuous Improvement in assigned area through application of appropriate Quality tools.
• Work closely with quality, operations, and maintenance to ensure that optimum levels of performance are achieved for process control and product conformance to requirements.
• Participates with quality and operations personnel on specific projects to address development, implementation and maintenance of quality systems related to processes, materials, and products used in making the production of steel billets, rods, rebar and industrial wire.
• Position is responsible in supporting the rod mill lab supervisor as back-up.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy from a four year college or university
• Metallurgical, Material Science or equivalent technical degree from a four
• year college or university
• Two to five years of experience

PAY RANGE: $59,400 - $74,000
