The Position: We are looking for a Department of Steelmaking to manage and direct the daily operations of a 225 ton, alternating current electric arc furnace, ladle met furnace, continuous six (6) strand billet caster and support operations (raw materials, refractories, and process control). The pay range we're offering begins at $150k with a 25% target bonus.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing the steelmaking and support operations (raw materials, refractories, process control, scheduling, as well as any outside vendors associated with the steelmaking operation) to improve processes, safety, quality, productivity, and reduce costs.
- Responsible for the management of approximately 14 salaried and 101 hourly employees in these areas.
- Reviews daily productivity by analyzing operating and maintenance data.
- Interfaces closely with the Maintenance Department and the Rod Mill Department.
- Assists in coordinating repairs to minimize downtime, as well as identifying areas for potential repair opportunities.
- Responsible for daily adherence to Company/Departmental goals, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing plans to enhance safety, quality, and productivity while decreasing costs.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Engineering or Metallurgy from a four-year college or university and four years related experience and/or training. (Will consider seven years melting and casting experience in lieu of degree).
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.
