Position Summary
JA USA’s Education Team is looking for a Curriculum & Content Alignment Specialist to join its Instruction and Content team under Product Development to ensure instructional content is purposefully aligned with standards and outcomes as well as content consistencies across all K-12 and post-secondary learning experiences. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of curriculum design, content strategy, and educational frameworks, and will play a key role in shaping content that drives measurable outcomes. The Curriculum & Content Alignment Specialist will report to the Senior Director, Curriculum & Content Development and will coordinate with various teams within the Education division.
Essential Functions
- Review and analyze instructional content to ensure alignment with national, state, and local standards and mandates.
- Maintain mapping of content to strategic learning outcomes, competencies, assessment, and learning frameworks.
- Analyze alignment across JA learning experiences to identify gaps, redundancies, synergies, and opportunities for integration.
- Translate complex standards and mandates into actionable curriculum components.
- Ensure content is consistent across different learning experiences including language used and shared definitions.
- Align content with formative and summative assessments to ensure coherence and validity.
- Collaborate with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to develop content that supports strategic goals.
- Ensure content supports differentiated instruction and inclusive learning practices.
- Support the development of assessment tools that measure competency mastery and learning outcomes.
- Use data and analytics to analyze assessment results to validate curriculum effectiveness and inform iterative design.
- Monitor trends in education policy, standards, and instructional best practices to keep content current and relevant.
- Collaborate to maintain and updated curriculum documentation.
- Know JA's learning experiences, in general, and JA's mission and voice precisely.
- Know, adhere to, and provide input on Production Guidelines, Style Guides, and Project Scope.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in education, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in curriculum development or educational content strategy.
- Strong understanding of educational standards (e.g., Common Core, NBEA, CTE frameworks).
- Strong understanding of and experience using various instructional approaches, including but not limited to, Experiential Learning, Project-Based Learning, inquiry-Based Learning, Case-Based Methodology, and Competency-Based Education.
- Experience with assessment design and program evaluation.
- Excellent analytical and systems thinking.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with data-driven learning evaluation models.
- Attention to detail and proven ability to work independently remotely.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in K-12 setting or working on developing education products.
- Experience leveraging AI-powered tools to improve process flows and efficiencies. Experience in technical platforms for content management.
- Familiar with educational technology and learning management systems.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG)
- Understanding of culturally responsive approach to education.
- Familiarity with JA learning experiences preferred.
