Job Summary
The Business Development Coordinator directly contributes to Illinois Mutual’s market share growth by transforming agent relationships into high-performing sales channels. The individual is pivotal in accelerating revenue growth by actively acquiring, developing, and retaining agent relationships. This individual is focused on driving sales performance through outbound prospecting, cross-selling, upselling, and strategic onboarding. The Business Development Coordinator is Responsible for managing the full sales cycle—from lead generation to closing—while delivering a high-touch, consultative experience that aligns agent partner needs with Illinois Mutual’s Individual Life and Disability insurance solutions. This individual collaborates closely with the Head of Carrier Relations and Partnerships to execute sales campaigns, convert leads into active producers, and expand our footprint through proactive outreach and relationship management. An ability to influence buying decisions, deliver compelling product presentations, and identify new revenue opportunities are key to success in this role.
Primary Responsibilities
Sales Growth & Revenue Generation
- Proactively drive new business through outbound calls, email campaigns, and lead follow-up.
- Convert inbound inquiries into closed sales by identifying partner agent needs and offering tailored solutions.
- Execute cross-sell and upsell strategies to maximize account value and deepen client engagement.
- Collaborate with the Head of Carrier Relations and Partnerships to develop and implement agent recruitment and activation strategies.
Agent Relationship Management
- Build lasting, trust-based agent relationships with agents and agencies.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews to uncover new sales opportunities and ensure agent satisfaction.
- Lead persuasive product training that drive agent activation and sales enablement.
Sales Operations & Enablement
- Manage a pipeline of opportunities using Salesforce and other CRM tools to track progress and forecast results.
- Collaborate with internal teams (underwriting, policy service, agent contracting & commissions, IT) to streamline the sales process and resolve issues quickly.
- Continuously analyze sales performance and market trends to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
Anticipated Salary: $50,000 - $55,000

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Illinois Mutual approved equivalency required.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
