Illinois Central College (ICC) is a community college located in the Greater Peoria area. The college opened its doors in 1967 to more than 2,000 students. Today, the college annually serves more than 19,000 students and offers more than 3,000 classes per semester. As an open access college, ICC welcomes any student who is willing to learn. ICC's mission is: "Through learning, minds change. We believe by changing minds, we can change the world." ICC offers 67 programs of study leading to an Associate in Arts and Science degree; 83 programs of study leading to an Associate Degree in Applied Science; and 104 programs leading to occupational certificates. The average class size is 12. Tuition for the academic year 2009-2010 is $87 per credit hour. ICC offers a wide variety of continuing education and specialized training through its Professional Development Institute (PDI). ICC also offers recreational classes and a special summer session for young people called "College for Kids."
