Summary

The Organizational Learning Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, implementing and evaluating professional development programs and learning initiatives that support the growth and effectiveness of staff, and administrators. This position serves as the primary coordinator of the college's organizational learning strategy, managing a comprehensive portfolio of professional development programming, training events, and special initiatives that advance institutional goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement among staff.

The coordinator combines expertise in adult learning and instructional design with strong project management skills and event planning capabilities to deliver high-quality, impactful learning experiences for all employee groups. This role requires a collaborative professional who can build relationships across divisions, manage multiple concurrent initiatives, and champion the college's commitment to employee development and institutional effectiveness.

Compensation for the PT Coordinator- Organizational Learning is $21.75 - $25.02 an hour.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate, implement and evaluate comprehensive professional and leadership development programs for all levels of the organization aligned with institutional strategic goals.
  • Conduct ongoing needs assessments to identify learning gaps and development priorities across the college; use data to inform program planning and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with department chairs, deans, and supervisors to implement targeted training solutions that address unit-specific needs.
  • Curate and maintain an annual professional development calendar, coordinating a diverse mix of workshops, webinars, seminars, and self-directed learning opportunities.
  • Oversee the processes for tracking, documenting, and reporting employee participation in professional development activities in Workday Learning.
  • Create course offerings and manage attendance in Workday Learning.
  • Research, evaluate, and facilitate access to external professional development resources, including conferences, online learning platforms, certifications, and consortium offerings.
  • Support the implementation of evidence-based instructional and professional practices by connecting employees with relevant resources and learning communities.
  • Lead end-to-end project management for organizational learning initiatives, from scoping and planning through implementation and evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and deliverables for all professional development projects and programs.
  • Coordinate cross-functional project teams, monitor progress, and ensure accountability for outcomes and deadlines.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage vendor and consultant relationships for outsourced training and development services; review contracts and monitor service delivery.
  • Maintain Workday Learning (LMS), including a Learning Management System (LMS), registration platforms, and survey tools.
  • Plan, organize, and execute professional development events, trainings, and special recognition programs including venue selection and reservations, catering coordination, audio/visual setup, materials preparation, and participant communications.
  • Assist in the design engaging learning environments and experiences that accommodate diverse learning styles and accessibility needs.
  • Manage event registration, attendance tracking, and post-event evaluation processes; compile and analyze feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Plan and manage hybrid and virtual event formats, ensuring equitable access and engagement for in-person and remote participants.
  • Serve on college committees related to professional development, equity and inclusion, accreditation, and strategic planning as assigned.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership, the Board of Trustees, and accreditation bodies as requested.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resource Development, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in professional development, training, and development, human resources, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, including planning, coordinating, and tracking multi-faceted projects from inception to completion.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing professional events or programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a community college, higher education, or public sector environment.
  • Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Canvas, Moodle, Cornerstone, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with Workday HCM Platform
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theory (e.g., ADDIE, Kirkpatrick, andragogy).
