Summary:
The Lead Coordinator/Trainer for Workforce Development is primarily responsible for effectively coordinating, supporting, implementing, and providing training for workforce programs. This student-facing position develops and delivers training using an innovative competency-based learning curriculum to enhance employability skills. The Lead Coordinator/Trainer will assist with end-to-end processes, including recruitment, placement, retention, case management, and employment transition. This externally funded position may be assigned to work across multiple funding sources within the Workforce Development department.
This is a grant funded position funded by the Workforce Equity Initiative Grant with an expected end date of 6/30/2026, and the possibility of extension if more funding is available.
Compensation for the Lead Coordinator/Trainer is $50,000-$53,000 a year.
Essential Functions:

Implement grant-sponsored programs aimed at increasing employment skills among unemployed, underemployed, and economically disadvantaged populations to prepare participants for local high-demand jobs.
Instruct workforce program curricula, which may include lecture and lab-based classes, reading and math, social and emotional learning, financial and digital literacy, and essential employability skills.
Empowers clients to improve their financial health through one-on-one counseling, education, and goal-setting regarding budgeting, saving, debt management, and credit building.
Serve as lead instructor for non-credit workforce programs by monitoring learning environments, conducting regular assessments, and evaluating program services.
Coordinate end-to-end processes that implement workforce programs, including customer-facing activities supporting recruitment, placement, retention, and case management for workforce participants.
Collaborate with workforce instructors, staff, and leadership to continuously improve and adapt the participant experience to meet the needs of the student, community, institution, and funder.
Maintain internal and external partnerships in support of program and institution outcomes.
Gather, maintain, and analyze data necessary to achieve grant outcomes.
Participate in the development of departmental goals and strategic plans that support the institutional vision while addressing gaps in workforce skills.
Provide strategic consultation on workforce programs.
Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Bachelor’s degree
Three years of experience providing training or classroom instruction to individuals from underrepresented populations.
Experience working with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in adult education, employment, social work, or training.
Experience working with underrepresented populations, dislocated workers, or other workforce programs.
Knowledge of, or experience in, one or more of the following: Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Information Technology, Construction, and/or Health Careers.
Experience working with multiple technological platforms and systems.
