Job Description:

Summary

The Scene Shop Foreperson Technician maintains, organizes, and supervises the scene shop for the ICC Theatre program on a part-time basis.

Compensation for the PT Technician- Scene Shop Foreman $17.90 - $20.58 an hour.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the scene shop.
  • Ensure safety for scene shop operations with regard to safety practices and procedures.
  • Supervise and train students and student workers in scene shop. Manage inventory and maintain scene tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate, coordinate and communicate processes with the Technical Director.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of scenic construction and painting tools, techniques, and materials.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working in theater as a stagehand, technician, or other directly related position.
  • Ability to safely operate woodworking and metalworking equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ​Associate’s degree or higher.
  • OSHA10 Certification.
  • Two or more years of experience working in a scene shop.
  • Two or more years of experience in lighting, sound, rigging, scene painting, or crew.
