Job Description:

SUMMARY

The Web Content Administrator is responsible for maintaining the standards defined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the website and intranet at ICC. This position will be an administrator of the content management system (CMS) and the system that runs the intranet. The Administrator will be responsible for maintaining consistent and intuitive content generation, structure, and navigation (information architecture), providing support, and leading projects to improve both the external-facing website as well as the internal-facing intranet.

Compensation for the Administrator- Web Content is $49,899.20 - $57,366.40 annually.

  • Maintain a consistent voice across the web and intranet presence that aligns with the strategic plan of the college and is aligned with belonging initiatives at ICC.
  • Provide information architecture and design support for any content being added or changed on the website and the intranet. For larger efforts, act as the project manager to collect requirements, create a plan, report statuses, and ensure timely completion of work.
  • Work closely with Marketing and internal stakeholders in the generation of internal and external content in support of current campaigns and initiatives maintaining a consistent brand experience.
  • Follow professional best practices and possess an understanding of ICC’s audiences, especially the core audience, prospective students for the web.
  • Conduct research to understand intranet user needs.
  • Co-admin the content management system (CMS) responsible for maintaining access, assigning roles, and managing workflows.
  • Oversee the intranet system in conjunction with the Web Manager and Application Services to support the knowledge base and service catalog.
  • Write and edit internal procedural documentation such as knowledge base articles, service descriptions, SOPs, and how-to guides.
  • Provide support for editorial review of technical communications as needed; examples include service-related emails, infrastructure, cybersecurity-related updates, etc.
  • Manage common administrative tasks in the intranet software or liaise with IT staff around those tasks.
  • Respond to tickets requesting changes to the website and intranet.
  • Support content contributors across the college.
  • Research, recommend, and apply improvements to site content for the website as applicable to ensure ease of use for intranet users.
  • Utilize structured content and taxonomies to follow the create once, publish everywhere (COPE) methodology to maintain accuracy and ensure consistency across platforms.
  • Setup and conduct scheduled website audits to address redundant, out-of-date, or trivial (ROT) content.
  • Follow search engine optimization (SEO) best practices. Maintain and monitor all web pages for necessary and accurate metadata.
  • Monitor website analytics dashboards to ensure our content and website is performing as expected. Perform related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of one year of online content and digital communications.
  • Minimum of one year experience coordinating web communication projects.
  • Experience writing, reporting, and copy editing for the web
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and communicate clearly with clients.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with HTML.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to create and perform advanced image manipulation, optimization, and editing using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar professional design software, with skills in creating and adapting visual content for web and digital platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate to nontechnical audiences on issues related to web standards, usability, and accessibility.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Media Management, Communication Studies, Marketing, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • Experience with content management systems: WordPress, OU Campus, etc.
  • Experience crafting digital content with a focus on information design and architecture.
  • Experience in higher education
  • Technical writing experience demonstrated by the creation of knowledge base articles, step-by-step guides, manuals, etc.
  • Understanding of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act of 1978 Section 508 Guidelines.
  • Understanding of web traffic metrics using web analytics tools
  • Understanding of web usability and user experience.
  • Working knowledge of CSS.
  • Ability to make minor edits to existing, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and backend (ie. PHP) code.
  • Working familiarity with information architecture, information design, metadata, and website navigation hierarchies.
