Summary

The Print Shop Associate provides document support services for daily activities and operations as a member of the Marketing department.

Essential Functions

  1. Print faculty and staff documents such as bookstore packets, exams, business cards, signs, bound books, etc.
  2. Provide support for print shop software platform including user management, system configuration and print order options.
  3. Combine, format, and manipulate PDF documents in Adobe Acrobat.
  4. Maintain quality standards in terms of accuracy, formatting, and procedures for all assigned projects; follow production schedule established by the Coordinator for timely completion of documents.
  5. Monitor print supplies (paper, toner, etc.) and order when needed.
  6. Make timely deliveries to customers, which requires significant walking and maneuvering a cart.
  7. Operate office copiers, printers, and bindery equipment in an efficient manner.
  8. Offer, maintain, and support good customer service; respectfully handle sensitive and confidential material; communicate effectively with customers, working leaders, and production staff concerning customer requirements.
  9. Perform related duties as required and miscellaneous duties such as scanning documents (PDF) and assist staff with PDF to print.
  10. Know, understand and act in accordance with Illinois Central College's Cougar CARE Principles, including connecting with students, building relationships, acting promptly and professionally and working with a team.
  11. Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Two years of experience utilizing Microsoft Office.
  3. Proficient in Adobe Acrobat.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Strong analyzing and problem-solving skills.
  6. Strong multi-tasking and decision-making skills.
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Strong organizing and prioritizing skills to meet critical deadlines.
  9. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Associate’s degree in related field.
  2. Certificate in Office Professional or related field.
  3. Experience working in higher education.
