The Doctor Call Staff Mail Operations Pharmacist is a registered pharmacist who is responsible for the accurate and timely dispensing of prescribed medication to patients. The Doctor Call Staff Mail Operations Pharmacist work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.The Doctor Call Staff Mail Operations Pharmacist ensures adherence to quality assurance standards, accurate tracking techniques and a review process prior to shipping medications to patients. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. May complete a review that includes a full analysis of the medication care plan, investigation of overall utilization, and identification of unusual usage patterns. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Depending on business needs, work opportunities may be available in other departments.
As a member of the Doctor Call Team, you will be required to work a variety of tasks based upon business need. Those tasks include but are not limited to:
- Take inbound phone calls from various healthcare team members. These calls can include:
- New Prescriptions
- Clarifications to existing prescriptions
- Discontinuation of prescriptions
- Medication History discussions
- Transfer of prescriptions between pharmacies
- Make outbound phone calls to various healthcare providers if required for business need
*Note: All calls will require review, discussion, and documentation for prescriptions' clinical appropriateness and proactive DUR assessment.
- Complete queue-based work which can require:
- Review prescriptions for accuracy
- Check for drug-drug interactions
- Assess drug-allergy concerns
- Evaluate appropriateness of dosage, directions and therapy.
- You will utilize electronic resources and guidelines to assist in decision making.
- Work tasks may vary based on department need

Required Qualifications
Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
Licensed as a PHARMACIST in Florida, Texas, Ohio or Arizona
Candidate must reside and plan to work within the state of Florida, Texas, Ohio or Arizona
Ability to participate in Federal prescription programs
Self-directed, but also able to work well in a group
Ability to solve problems and encourage others in collaborative problem solving
Work ethic that is focused, accurate, and highly productive
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with computers
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Ability to provide hard wire internet connection and a private workspace
Preferred Qualifications
PharmD
3 or more years of experience in a high-volume retail, community or mail order pharmacy practice environment
Proficient in Spanish– If applicable, please specify this on application/resume when applying

Workstyle: Remote work at Home
Location: Candidate must reside and plan to work within the state of Florida, Texas, Ohio or Arizona
Schedule:
The schedule will be set between 8am-8pm EST Monday-Friday and 8am-4:30pm EST Saturday. Annual shift bids are conducted, and schedule changes may occur dependent upon business need.

Work-At-Home Requirements To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:
At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership. Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense. Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
