The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer Supports development and execution of cloud implementation strategy within organization's existing IT infrastructure. The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer's work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer is responsible for implementing the organization's cloud strategy from a technical perspective. This role encompasses the design, planning, integration, maintenance, and support of cloud architecture. The engineer will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to evaluate cloud systems and identify appropriate solutions. Additionally, they will work alongside product managers and engineers to develop specifications for new cloud-based products, services, applications, and solutions.

We are seeking a highly skilled individual with extensive experience in designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based solutions tailored to meet client needs. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable and reliable cloud infrastructures while ensuring adherence to best practices in security, automation, and performance.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design and implement cloud architectures and solutions utilizing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop effective cloud strategies.

  • Manage and optimize cloud resources to ensure cost efficiency and high availability.

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless software delivery and deployment.

  • Implement and enforce security best practices and compliance in cloud environments.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud service issues, providing excellent support to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Monitor cloud infrastructure and applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on cloud technologies and practices.

  • Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to enhance our cloud offerings.

  • Collaborate with product managers and architects to develop specifications for new cloud-based products/services, applications and solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 4 years in cloud application design, development, and testing, with expertise in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and 3 years of hands-on experience with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics.

  • Proficient in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Terraform, CloudFormation), containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and ETL processes, SQL, and PySpark for data integration.

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and compliance requirements, alongside experience with version control systems (Git) and managing release pipelines.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a commitment to enhancing consumer experiences and continuous improvement, complemented by strong communication and collaboration abilities in cross-functional teams.

  • Relevant professional certifications in Azure, Databricks, or other major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$106,900 - $147,000 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
