This opportunity is a Chief of Staff role that will work with our corporate Medicaid Network Leadership team. In this impactful position, you will support process development and improvement strategies across the Medicaid network development and network implementation life cycle. The Strategy Advancement Advisor role involves tackling a wide range of challenges, varying in scope and complexity, from moderate to significant.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and manage special projects as assigned by the VP, Medicaid Network, establishing goals, objectives, and plans.

  • Represent the Medicaid Network leadership team internal and external to the Medicaid segment in meetings and discussions when necessary.

  • Assist the Medicaid Network leadership team with decision-making and strategic planning, providing guidance and leadership to team leaders.

  • Coordinate activities across Medicaid Network team, including annual strategy and goal planning sessions, monthly network progress updates, all-staff meetings, team building events, associate engagement committee, etc.

  • Exercise independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks and works under minimal supervision.

  • Apply critical analysis of various factors to assess situations and determine the most effective course of action.

  • Require experience in managing communications to all levels of staff, including front line staff to executive level.

  • Coordinate and streamline communications between different departments; creates content and presentation materials for varied audiences.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration and/or related field

  • 5+ years of professional experience working within Managed Care, Medicaid experience and provider contracting/provider relations/network operations experience is preferred

  • 2+ years of experience leading enterprise level projects or programs across a complex matrixed organization

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution

  • Travel: 10-20%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business administration or healthcare administration

  • Proven experience as a Chief of Staff or similar role

  • Project Management experience

Additional Information

  • Workstyle: Hybrid Home - This is a hybrid home position where employees primarily work from their home office, occasionally using company office space for collaboration and face-to-face needs.

  • Typical Work Days/Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm EST.

  • Travel: 10-20%

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$115,200 - $158,400 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
