Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first

We’re seeking a strategic and collaborative Onboarding Program/Strategy Advancement Principal to lead Humana’s enterprise member onboarding transformation program. This role offers a unique opportunity to reimagine one of the most pivotal moments in a member’s journey – when they first join Humana. You’ll own the overall program, ensuring that every workstream stays aligned, on track, and in service of a seamless, high-impact onboarding experience.

Humana is undertaking a strategic transformation of its member onboarding experience, a critical moment of truth in the customer lifecycle. As Onboarding Program Manager, you will serve as the program lead for this enterprise-wide effort, reporting to the AVP of Strategy Advancement. This is not a feature roadmap role; it's a program leadership role with a singular focus: ensuring the seamless, timely, and high-impact delivery of our reimagined onboarding vision across teams, systems, and stakeholders.

Throughout the annual business cycle, you will champion the onboarding transformation program and convey new strategies, tests, and progress to senior leaders across the enterprise. You’ll work with cross-functional partners across product, marketing, sales, member experience and clinical to drive evolution of onboarding strategies, pilots and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Product Owner for Humana’s onboarding transformation program, ensuring all workstreams are strategically aligned and operationally integrated

  • Partner with the Onboarding Strategy team to develop hypothesis, analysis, and pilots to advance our member onboarding experience

  • Drive program planning, execution, and delivery across multiple cross-functional workstreams

  • Partner with workstream leads to maintain momentum, resolve blockers, and manage dependencies

  • Lead executive communications including updates, readouts, and reporting to senior stakeholders

  • Own and maintain core program artifacts, timelines, and governance documentation

  • Identify opportunities to accelerate delivery or improve fidelity to the onboarding strategy

  • Translate onboarding vision into a cohesive delivery roadmap with clear milestones and accountability

  • Bring structure, clarity, and urgency to complex challenges, while staying grounded in member outcomes

  • Effectively lead and develop junior members of the team

Use your skills to make an impact

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 7+ years in program management, product operations, or enterprise transformation roles

  • Proven success delivering large, multi-workstream programs in healthcare, insurance, or similarly complex environments

  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated experience managing senior stakeholders and executive-level reporting

  • Expertise in program acceleration, risk mitigation, and managing cross-functional interdependencies

  • Understanding of customer journey design, experience transformation, and onboarding best practices

  • Ability to distill strategic goals into actionable, measurable execution plans

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, MPH, PhD, or graduate degree in a management field

  • Experience with member onboarding, lifecycle programs, or healthcare transformation initiatives

  • Familiarity with CMS regulations, digital health ecosystems, and customer communication platforms

  • Success working in matrixed environments with distributed accountability

  • PMP or similar certification

  • The Onboarding Program/Strategy Advancement Principal can be a remote position. Ideally, candidates would reside in Louisville, KY, Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, Washington D.C., Nashville TN, or the New York City area.
