The Financial Planning & Analysis Professional 2 performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules. Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects. The Financial Planning & Analysis Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Financial Planning & Analysis Professional 2 prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. Provides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget. Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements and reports. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget. Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements and reports.

  • Assists in Finance Department special projects, such as FTE trend analysis, payments to subcontractors, cost accounting, monitoring third party spend, and supporting monthly finance reviews.

  • Performs ad hoc requests from Senior Leaders, Operational Leaders, and Enterprise counterparts. In addition will support process improvements and efficiencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Our Department of Defense contract requires U.S. Citizenship

  • Successfully receive interim approval for government security clearance (NBIS - National Background Investigation Services)

  • HGB is not authorized to do work in Puerto Rico per our government contract. We are not able to hire candidates that are currently living in Puerto Rico.

  • Bachelors Degree with major in Accounting, Finance, or Business

  • 2 years experience in finance or accounting, to include financial reporting, and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA

  • Tableau or Power BI experience

  • Cost accounting experience

Work at Home Requirements

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$65,000 - $88,600 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
