The Associate Director, Business Intelligence solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Associate Director, Business Intelligence requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).The Associate Director, Business Intelligence for Encounters System Aging and DSNP data and reporting will support monitoring of encounter system workflow, reconciliation of acknowledgements to systems, data management, reporting and analytics, and automation. The support includes identifying unique insights and solving complex business challenges using a variety of data sources. The individual in this role will be expected to bring creativity and clearly articulate these insights, recommendations, and actions to a variety of key business decision makers within the business and drive results.
The Associate Director, Business Intelligence will utilize various tools, technologies, applications and best practices to analyze and present insightful, actionable information. This role oversees data & analytics team efforts to provide reporting, analytics solutions, ensuring encounter data workflow has appropriate controls and monitoring and automation with the objective of optimizing performance. The role will lead a team of up to approx. 7-9 direct associates.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop a team focused on strategic understanding encounter workflow & reconciliation of data across multiple systems, operational reporting, insight generation, and storytelling to support the business.
- Manage and prioritize requests from team members and cross functional partners and set realistic expectations. Transparently communicate about priorities on a regular basis.
- Embrace a service mentality to collaborate with Operations, Business Intelligence teams, Database teams, and IT to assure data processes are automated, efficient, and to identify insights and/or solve complex business challenges.

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical experience in data analysis and intelligence.
- 3+ years of experience in leading and developing high-performing business intelligence teams.
- Proficient in advanced analytics, Python, and other statistical software.
- Proficient SQL skills with knowledge of SSMS, SSIS, and SSRS.
- Familiarity with data infrastructure, governance, data passing, and APIs.
- Experience with Cloud Technologies (Azure Synapse Analytics), DataBricks, and Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).
- Proven ability to create and present story-driven analytics presentations.
- Knowledge of process improvement and development of metrics.
- Understanding of regulations in healthcare or related industries.
- Creative and proactive in managing large initiatives.
- Passionate about enhancing consumer experiences and business outcomes.
- Experienced in leading change and inspiring organizational performance during transformation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with executive presence.
- Collaborative mindset and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
- Works effectively with adjacent BI and data science teams to drive results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Advanced degree or MBA
- Comprehensive knowledge of EDI formats: X12, 834, 835, 837, 270/271, 276/277, 278
- Current or recent experience in a large, highly matrixed company
- Prior health insurance industry experience

Work-At-Home Requirements:
- WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
- A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
- Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
- A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
