VP Medicare Regional President will be responsible for the development and expansion of Humana’s business presence and financial success in Medicare’s Southeast region. The Regional Market President manages the development, operations, and results throughout Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. This leader will have responsibility for managing relationships with internal partners who partner to create success in the region, as well as external providers who provide care to Humana’s Medicare and Medicaid members.This role will oversee a Medicare population of 1 million individual and group members and partnerships with hundreds of hospitals and thousands of providers. The leader will manage a team of 7 direct reports and about 550 total associates responsible for managing the Southeast Medicare product strategy and P&L results; product design/innovation; provider network contracting, relationships and engagement; network operations; clinical operations and the health of our members; and the attainment of Stars scores and management of Risk Adjustment. This position will report to the SVP & East Division Leader.
- Responsible for the overall P&L management for the region, including monitoring clinical, financial, and key operational metrics.
- Propel growth and enterprise value by assessing competitive positioning, developing product strategy for the market, and translating these benefits into products offerings during the annual Medicare Advantage plan filing process.
- Partner closely with Product leadership to identify and communicate the need for improvements and changes in Humana’s products and services.
- Design and execute Provider contracting/management strategies to maintain market-competitive networks to support profitable growth.
- Lead the expansion and support for value-based care and innovation with internal and external providers.
- Build collaborative partnerships with aligned internal business partners, including the Medicaid business segment, clinical, national contracting, marketing, product, enterprise growth, sales, and others.
- Leadership development, including mentoring for associates outside the Southeast team.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 6 plus years leadership experience in the healthcare industry specifically Medicare Advantage
- Proven track record of driving operational performance improvement
- Proven experience developing multi-product strategy at the market level or higher.
- Knowledge of health plan finance and the compensation arrangements between health plans and providers
- Knowledge of risk arrangements and ability to influence these arrangements.
- Solid track record of hiring and developing talent and preparing associates for roles of broader and greater responsibility
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences and member health
- Ability to thrive and influence leaders and direct teams in a matrixed organization to achieve Medicare membership, financial, and clinical targets
- Create a culture of consistent process improvement and drive a profitable growth mindset across teams at the leadership level and down the organization
- Develop diverse teams and talent with broad capabilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of a Fortune 50 Company
- Must reside or be willing to relocate to Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina or Virginia.
