The Benefits Administration Professional coordinates the administration of employee benefit programs such as basic and major medical coverage, life, health and disability insurance, pension plans, and other benefits. The Benefits Administration Professional work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Benefits Administration Professional consults with and advises employees on eligibility, provisions, and other matters related to benefits. Maintains benefits records and documents. Prepares employee benefits booklets and other employee benefit communications. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years or more of benefit administration experience
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace environment
  • Can work independently
  • Meet service level agreements in regards to response time back to associate inquiries
  • Provide great customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Ability to respect the confidentiality nature of human resources work
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • This role is located in Louisville, KY and will be hybrid home having mandatory in office days of Tuesday and Wednesday.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business or related field desired
  • Excel with V-Lookup experience
  • Deep understanding of FMLA, ACA and COBRA
  • Knowledge of Human Resource Management software (Workday) or other HCM system
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingual ( English and Spanish)

Work-At-Home Requirements:
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
• At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
• Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
• Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
• Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Interview Format:

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$52,500 - $72,300 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
