The Senior CyberSecurity Engineer develops and tests information security tools, applications, and system solutions deployed in Humana. Oversees the design engineering and testing processes for Humana EIP products and works with relevant EIP stakeholders to drive products from design to volume production release. The Senior CyberSecurity Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior CyberSecurity Engineer designs, oversees, and performs engineering tests that validate platform and product designs. May design and implement protocols and solutions designed to safeguard sensitive data from external/internal breach or attacks and implement relevant engineering updates to Humana information technology and information security infrastructures. Begins to influence department’s strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer role works to support identity and access management tasks related to end user access, such as access additions, modifications, deletions and disables from various systems. The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer validates roles and entitlements within the IT systems, supports Certification processes for security reviews, works to support Contractor and Associate onboarding, reviewing and validating Postproduction Validation for code for the IIQ environment. Performs daily maintenance and support for IIQ while assisting in IDN Configuration & rollout collaboration and support. Conducts user recertification reviews, as defined by company policies. Assists with onboarding issue categorization & tracking and resolution. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience integrating Security Policies, virtual access and controls
  • Experience integrating Cyber Security technologies with existing technologies
  • Skilled in incident management support for an ITSM environment
  • Experience with Active Directory; creating, modifying and deleting user and group objects
  • Experience modifying NTFS permissions
  • Experience with managing ticket lifecycles for Service Support
  • Deep experience with creating/updating/maintaining Knowledge Base Articles
  • Strong ability to assess urgency and prioritization and make good decisions based upon situational circumstances
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to influence others
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 or more years of security administration experience
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Industry Certifications: CISA, CISSP, HCISPP, CCSP and/or CISM
  • 2 Years with IIQ/IDN (Sailpoint Product) experience
  • Deep understanding of IAM Account lifecycles

2 Years of Service-Now experience

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$104,800 - $144,300 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
