The Associate Director, Strategy Advancement provides data-based strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities. Provides business intelligence and strategic planning support for The Technology Strategy, Operations and Enterprise Capabilities (TechStrat). The Associate Director, Strategy Advancement requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).

The Associate Director, Strategy Advancement influences technology leadership is focused on helping our VPs, AVPs, Directors and Associate Directors to be 1) Exceptional leaders for their teams and 2) seen as Thought Leaders across all of IT. They will analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources. Brings expertise or identifies subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to identify, interpret, and produce recommendations and plans based on company and external data analysis. Ensures that policies and procedures align with corporate vision. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel ensuring efficient operation of the function. Decisions are typically related to identifying and resolving complex technical and operational problems within department(s), and could lead highly specialized professional associates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying maturation opportunities and gaps amongst our leaders, formulating personal journeys for each leader, providing coaching, and partnering with HR/Org Effectiveness as well as Talent Strategy and healthy teams work just beginning.
  • Assessing any current gaps that may be a barrier to a successful transformation by leader and then creating personal journeys to mature their team’s leadership culture.
  • Align to a holistic Operating Model that follows industry norms and which teams can rely upon for accountabilities Assess of each team’s structure, talent, and performance.
  • Partner with HR Organization Effectiveness and development leaders to create and drive customized plans for from VP through Associate Director.
  • Activate those Organizational Effectiveness plans across individual leaders.
  • Enable talent growth through skills development and gap assessments, training plans, and talent pipelines like the IT intern program.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 8 years of experience, 2 or more years of management experience
  • Proven history of influencing the senior most leaders within.
  • Be considered a trusted advisor to technology leaders.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with senior technology leaders, organizational strategy, leadership culture development and talent strategies.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$136,200 - $187,400 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
