The Sales Manager will report directly to the Partner of Business Development and will collaborate closely with the VP of Skills and overall team to ensure strong communication, alignment, and follow-through. They are a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work closely with both internal team members and external stakeholders. We would also like it if this person had experience working with workforce development boards, although not required.

Responsibilities

Sales & Partnerships

  • Design and implement strategic sales plans to reach revenue and partnership targets for Skills programs.
  • Build outbound campaigns and source lead generation opportunities in collaboration with the SVP of Business Development.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and outreach to negotiation and closing deals.
  • Cultivate lasting relationships with partners to maximize retention and expand opportunities.
  • Draft detailed and accurate sales reports to track performance and share progress with leadership.
  • Assess competition, costs, and demand to identify sales tactics and growth opportunities.

Team Communication & Internal Collaboration

  • Maintain close communication with the Skills program team, including Program Managers and Career Coaches, to ensure alignment on partner needs and participant outcomes.
  • Participate in biweekly calls, team check-ins, and EOS meetings to provide updates and align on strategy.
  • Support program kickoffs, presentations, and partner-facing events when needed.
  • Share feedback from partners to inform continuous improvement of Skills programs.
  • Collaborate with Skills Operations and Placement teams to ensure smooth delivery for program participants and alumni.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with workforce development boards a plus.
  • Proven track record in sales, partnerships, or business development, ideally in workforce development, higher education, or related industries.
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly independent environment while juggling multiple responsibilities.
  • Experience with CRM tools (preferably Salesforce or HubSpot).
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills.
  • Flexibility to travel 25% of the time.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, collaborative approach, and “no job is beneath me” mentality.

Our values are core to how we work. If they don’t resonate with you, this role might not be the right fit.
