STRATEGIC FOCUS:

  • Continued involvement in the Safety Process and maintain a zero lost time injury performance.
  • Analyze and plan Maintenance activities to ensure that costly re-work is avoided.
  • Participate in the training and development plans of the Department.
  • Assist in the development and support of technological advancements and efficiency improvement methods.
  • Provide open, honest communication, both up and down the reporting structure.
  • Actively participate in the plant Quality process and ensure that manpower, man-hour, and cost estimates are available for all planned work.

Job Description Summary

Performs specialized maintenance and repair services in either multiple crafts (such as electrical, carpentry, welding, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, and millwrighting), or in a single craft but with significant, specialized expertise. Has a sound understanding of the maintenance history of the building, equipment, and other facilities to be maintained.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Maintenance Supervisor, in compliance with Porocel policies, organizational goals, and applicable regulations

  • Maintain/repair all plant equipment and machinery Baghouses, Calciners, Fans, Pumps, Tubs, Tanks, Conveyors, Belt Dryers, Mills, Screens, Bucket Elevators, Blowers, Mixers, Extruders , Activators, conveying systems, etc.

  • Maintain all tools, to be used in plant environment

  • Always Work safely . Report anything found to be unsafe to your Supervisor; always wear your safety equipment (safety glasses, steel toe boots, hardhat, and earplugs) and any other PPE, as required.

  • Troubleshoot in your work area, communicating with your Supervisor, of any downtime or any trouble that you may have.

  • Must have communication skills, verbal as well as written

  • Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager and Production Dept. Head

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have at least a high school diploma/GED

  • Drivers License is required

  • Experience operating Forklifts Preferred.

  • 2-3 years of Plant Mechanic Maintenance work.

  • Ability to do some minor welding preferred

  • Must have the ability to read and comprehend work and safety instructions and directions.

The pay range for this position is: $83,900-$139,800
