Job Summary
The Test Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing jobs throughout the testing process to support targeted ship dates and on-time delivery to customers. This position assigns and coordinates test personnel, reviews job schedules and completion timelines, and monitors technician time and progress. The role also reviews drawings and project documentation to ensure alignment with operational and application requirements. The Test Supervisor works closely with internal departments, vendors, and service teams to resolve issues, repair troubled units, and keep projects moving efficiently. This position also participates in job-related meetings to stay informed of project development, operational changes, and shipping requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducting Performance Reviews on Electrical Test Technicians and recommend pay increases accordingly.
- Set up training on new products and standards.
- Read and interpret plans, prints, drawings or job write-ups and compare to what has been designed and built, checking for any discrepancies, errors, problems or potential problems or questions. Identify any that are found and communicate to appropriate company departments.

- Verify and static test all electrical circuits using appropriate equipment and approved methods.

- Verify and run engine tests as necessary or directed, connecting to fuel source, load banks, radiator farms, gauges or meters as required or directed. Connect switch gear if required.

- Communicate all findings to necessary company personnel. Prepare, create and distribute appropriate testing reports.
- Communicate any problems, potential problems or questions that are found to appropriate company departments or personnel, including Test Manager, engineering, sales or other department(s) or personnel as necessary or directed. Assist in correction of problems as directed or required.
- Prepare, create and distribute appropriate testing reports, including all test verification reports and final summary of all testing.
- Actively work to identify potential improvements or upgrades to the test cell facility and communicate them to appropriate company personnel.
- Field telephone call for technical support when called upon to do so.
- Clean and maintain the neatness and order of the test cell facility and test cell office.
- Maintain a high degree of attention and awareness, taking care to avoid an accident, injury, any other hazard or damage to material, equipment or person. Identify and use all appropriate safety equipment and follow all safety requirements.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
· High School diploma, completion of a basic electricity course, or applicable on-the-job experience.
· Further formal education in basic industrial relay logic or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Demonstrated ability to read and interpret A. C. and D. C. schematics, plans, drawings, prints or similar job write-ups and how they apply to design or product.
· Demonstrated ability to use testing equipment including volt/ohm meters, recorders, vibration analyzers, sound meters, pressure gauges, meggers, hipots, etc.
· Basic knowledge of programmable logic controls and their relationship to diesel or gas engines.
· Basic knowledge of generators of all sizes and their relationships to diesel or gas gensets.
· Basic computer literacy.
· Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels within the company
· Above average mechanical aptitude and ability to work with his or her hands.
· Above average attendance in previous jobs.
· Must be willing to travel and work overtime as needed.
· Must be self-motivated
· Ability to work as part of a team and with a high degree of enthusiasm and commitment.
