Who We Are

Distillery Labs is a nonprofit organization that serves and supports entrepreneurs, inventors & innovators in Peoria, IL, and the surrounding region. We aim to foster a vibrant and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem that drives innovation, economic growth, and social impact. We aim to make Greater Peoria the first choice among entrepreneurs for starting their journey from ideation to scale-up.

We are currently seeking a Community Concierge (or two) to join our team at our state of the art Innovation Hub located in the heart of downtown Peoria, just a block away from the museum square and the riverfront. In this role, you will interface with the Greater Peoria community and enable our dedication to educating, motivating, inspiring, and connecting our community through dynamic events, programs, and strategic partnerships. Primarily, you will attend to tasks at the reception area in the public library and will help connect the public and guests to the appropriate tenants and meeting spaces within the facility. You will provide support on a variety of tasks including event coordination, social media engagement, marketing efforts, and addressing the needs of tenants within the Distillery Labs offices and coworking spaces.

What You’ll Do To Drive Success

• Assist the Startup Community Concierge in greeting visitors and providing exceptional customer service
• Help manage the schedules of meeting spaces, membership applications, and leasing inquiries
• Answer phone calls and provide information or referrals to appropriate individuals
• Facilitate tours of the facility when needed
• Support bringing events to life in planning, promoting, and hosting
• Setup and teardown event spaces
• Engage with event attendees to network and ensure positive experiences
• Support the creation and scheduling of engaging social media content
• Support the development and distribution of marketing materials
• Monitor social media trends and report on things to help build engagement with Distillery Labs
• Interact with startup founders, entrepreneurs, and community members
• Drive a welcoming and supportive environment
• Assist in gathering feedback and insights to improve services and programs

What You Bring To The Table

• Comfortable working a part-time schedule; ideally Mon - Fri, either 8a - 1p or 1p - 5p
• Flexibility and responsiveness to changing needs and demands, able to grow from feedback and challenges
• Tech-savvy with a penchant for telling a compelling story and building engagement on social media
• Strong organizational skills to keep sight of lots of moving parts to execute great on-site events
• Passionate about serving and supporting entrepreneurs, understanding their needs, pains, and aspirations
• Ability to execute multiple tasks and projects efficiently and effectively with attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others and remain accountable for performance
• Disdain for the status quo - consistently asking valuable questions and investigating why or why not
• High level of self-motivation, able to plan and off-load tasks and set priorities with limited direction
