LOCATION: East Peoria or Burr Ridge, Illinois

SUMMARY: Develops and oversees all accounting functions including parent entity financial statement preparation and reporting, company-wide budgeting, tax compliance and planning, cash flow forecasting with direct supervisory responsibility for staff of 5 professional staff and 2 assistants.   • Directly supervise and balance the work of the property accountants, corporate accountant and the admin staff in handling the accounting for the various properties.
  • Prepare annual performance evaluations for all members of the Accounting Department
  • Review loan closing and/or sale documents and related journal entries to ensure transactions are properly recorded.
  • Interface with outside auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Review and report on monthly/quarterly financials including executive summary analysis of monthly/quarterly financial statements.
  • Coordinate with outside tax preparers to ensure timely preparation of federal and state tax returns for all entities.
  • Prepare period projections of Cullinan Companies taxable income.
  • Liaise with MRI software vendor and internal IT department, assist with upgrades and other IT issues.
  • Maintain documentation of Accounting Department Processes
  • Maintain extreme confidentiality and discretion at all times

  • 5-10 years of accounting supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
  • Advance knowledge of Excel and interfacing with general ledger software
  • Working knowledge of MRI and Argus software a plus
  • Strong understanding of Commercial Real Estate a plus
