Simformotion™ LLC – the licensee for Cat® Simulators for Caterpillar Inc – is growing and seeking an meticulous and proactive Inventory Specialist. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring seamless inventory operations.

Primary Responsibility:

• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Place and receive orders with suppliers to ensure necessary stock levels.
• Follow process for Purchase Orders ensuring Accounting has accurate data
• Monitor open PO’s and expected delivery dates, working with suppliers to ensure on time delivery.
• Build relationships with suppliers and review pricing on a quarterly basis. – asking for price breaks and discounts.
• Coordinate and perform regular stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
• Reconcile discrepancies in inventory records and investigate variances.
• Look for opportunities to implement new inventory control processes and optimize inventory management systems
• Track and report on inventory levels, turnover rates, and other key metrics.
• Prepare inventory-related reports for management and stakeholders.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
• Work with the new product development and engineering teams to:
  • order prototype parts
  • create new Part Numbers and assemblies for new products. Gathering all needed part information.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Work directly with Logistics Coordinator on Scheduling/Coordinating and serve as a backup or be able to help as needed
• Be familiar with process and procedures on logistics/shipping, working with freight carrier reps on shipping issues, delays and billing discrepancies
• Be familiar with processing Sales Orders through the system.

Qualifications:

• 5 years proven experience as an inventory specialist or in a similar role
• Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Familiarity with inventory control procedures and best practices.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be comfortable with technology, including a willingness to learn new technology
• Self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to follow through on all assignments and keep commitments
• Problem solving skills

Location: This position is based in East Peoria, Illinois. Must be onsite at the East Peoria location 2-3 days per week. Salary is commensurate with experience.
