Announcing an Examination Cycle for placement into the City of PeoriaMay 2024 Police Eligibility Pool.Salary : $65,945.78 ($67,594.39 after certified training)
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m., Friday, December 29, 2023.Application must include the following:
1. Photocopy of Driver's License.2. Photocopy of Birth Certificate. NOTE: This should be a copy of the registered (or certified) birth certificate, which is on file at the courthouse in the county of birth. The hospital certificate (with the footprints of the newborn) is NOT an acceptable document.3. Photocopy of High School Diploma OR High School Transcript OR GED Certificate. You only need to submit one copy out of the three. The City of Peoria offers full testing services for the position of Police Recruit through National Testing Network (NTN). To register with NTN and schedule a test, go to www.nationaltesting network.com, select 'Find Jobs', then select (Law Enforcement) jobs and sign up for the City of Peoria.
When you visit the www.nationaltestingnetwork.com website:1. Complete the NTN registration process and schedule your test.
2. Review all information related to the City of Peoria, including minimum requirements, salary, and benefits.3. Review detailed information about the testing process.
4. Review the Frequently Asked Questions and take an online practice test (if desired).
5. When taking the online test, please make sure to take the assessment at the beginning of the examination. Your test will not be scored unless this section and the rest of the test is completed.Upon completion of your scheduled exam, scores are automatically forwarded to the City of Peoria. Candidates who attain a passing score on the entry level exam will be placed on the City of Peoria's eligibility list. The City of Peoria will contact candidates on the list and will invite them to participate in further stages of the selection process.
National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National Testing Network does not replace the City of Peoria's responsibility and decision making in the testing process. All candidate results are provided to the City of Peoria where the final decisions are made.

2. ORIENTATION (Not Mandatory) – The same information will be presented in each orientation. 3. WRITTEN EXAM (Mandatory) (Held in person at the site listed below.) – This testing period there will be three tests offered to take the
written examination in person. You can only attend one examination date of your choice. You must contact the National Testing Network (NTN) by

5. Make sure to complete the assessment part of the testing process. The test can not be graded unless this assessment and all other components of the test are completed.Upon completion of your scheduled exam, scores are automatically forwarded to the City of Peoria. Candidates who attain a passing score on the entry level exam will be placed on the City of Peoria's eligibility list. The City of Peoria will contact candidates on the list and will invite them to participate in further stages of the selection process.
Candidates who pass the written examination will be notified by email their score. All candidates will take the POWER test on Saturday, January 13, 2024 or get a date and time to report for the POWER Test.
We are no longer giving the Physical Ability Exam. It is being replaced by the POWER test, which will be given by the Police Department. Even though you take the POWER test now, if hired, you will take the test at the Police Academy.
If you want to get ready for the POWER test and are ready to raise the bar in the gym and the community, please contact our Physical Fitness Team members Sergeant Amy Dotson at 309-210-4577 or Officer Chris Collins at 309-573-7830 to become a part of that team by being prepared to pass the POWER Test!
Please notify the Human Resources Department in advance of the testing process if accommodations are required.
Also, the Police Department will be offering the opportunity to participate in Mock Interviews after you have been admitted to the Eligibility Pool. This is not mandatory, but would be a great opportunity to practice your interviewing skills. The mock interviews will take place the week of September 18th. More details to follow.
