The City of Peoria Community Development Department is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Grants Coordinator. This position will work with Federal, State and private funders to comply with grant regulations as well as interacting with other City Departments and local community development partner organizations. An ideal candidate would bring knowledge, creativity, and a strong desire to improve the community. The Department is looking for a candidate with experience in affordable housing development, federal grant experience and grant reporting and monitoring.INITIAL SCREENING DATE: MONDAY, APRIL 17, 2023OPEN UNTIL FILLED
- Examples of Duties
Knowledge of principles and practices of grant administration; financial administration, accounting and budgeting; community planning and development; proposal development and grant writing; applicable state, federal, and local ordinances, laws, rules, and regulations; and methods and techniques of research, statistical analysis and report presentation. Skill in researching, compiling, and summarizing a variety of informational and statistical data and materials; organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up on assignments with a minimum of direction; using a computer terminal to accurately and rapidly enter and retrieve data and information; using tact, discretion, initiative, and independent judgment within established guidelines; and communicating clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional periodicals and journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
- Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Public Administration, Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, or related field; and zero to two years progressively responsible related experience required. Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, considered. Department is looking for a candidate with experience specifically related to federal grant administration.
