The City of East Peoria is seeking an experienced, hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, operation, repair, and continuous improvement of all City-owned facilities and related infrastructure.

This position is responsible for ensuring City facilities remain safe, efficient, and reliable. The Facilities Manager will supervise maintenance personnel, coordinate contractors and vendors, manage operating and capital budgets, implement preventative maintenance programs, and support facility improvement and capital projects. This working manager position will play a key role in supporting essential City services and maintaining critical facility infrastructure.

Qualified candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and at least five years of increasingly responsible experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related field, including two years in a supervisory or lead role. Strong troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and leadership skills are required. The ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical drawings is essential. Additional education, technical certifications, and knowledge of building systems, OSHA regulations, and building codes are preferred.

The selected candidate must establish residency within 25 miles of the City corporate limits within one year of employment and be available for after-hours emergency response when needed.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, including a functional capacity/lift assessment, background check, and drug screening in accordance with City policy.

The pay range for this position is $82,000–$90,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience (DOQE). This is a full-time, salary-exempt position offering a comprehensive benefits package.
