City Grounds Maintenance & FOL Laborers help maintain over 70 properties throughout the City. The job duties vary depending on the time of year. From March through September, the Laborer performs a variety of grounds maintenance duties including but not limited to push mowing, zero-turn mowing, weed pulling/control, tree trimming, brush cutting, raking, dirt work, trash/debris removal throughout the City, and other maintenance duties as assigned. The Laborer will also be asked to help with set up and tear down of City Special Events during the summer months. From October through February the Laborer transitions to the Festival of Lights crew and helps with the preparation, and the set up and tear down of the Winter Wonderland Park. The Laborer will provide assistance in preparation for the Festival of Lights Parade including float care and maintenance. They will also assist with FOL special events as needed during the season. This position will assist with snow removal and other shop duties as assigned during winter months.

This position typically works Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. However, the job requires the employee to be flexible for work duties depending on the event calendar, the weather, and time of year. The job requires the employee to work certain evenings, weekends, and holidays. Prior outdoor and/or labor work experience is preferred.

Position starts at $18.00/hour. Yearly raises are available depending on performance.
