About the position:
The Director of Compliance is responsible for ensuring that all grants and contracts remain in compliance. This includes ensuring compliance with external regulations, managing tools and processes used for evaluation, and organizing data collection and analysis. The Director is also responsible for overseeing the Electronic Health Record (EHR) software setup and Medicaid billing.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supports program staff to ensure compliance with COA, Medicaid, state, federal, and other funder requirements.
- Leads agency efforts to maintain Medicaid certification and licensure/accreditation.
- Maintains the electronic health record (EHR) software including setup, support, billing, and reporting.
- Provides training and guidance to program staff on billing documentation, contract compliance, and outcome tracking.
- Oversee grant and contracts including applications and contract execution.
- Research program and funding opportunities.
- Assists programs with audits and file reviews to evaluate and support program effectiveness.
- Supports external audits and accreditation reviews, including COA and Medicaid audits.
- Coordinates data gathering for all requests for records.
- Leads internal research projects.
- Provides input for strategic planning and promotes outcome-based programming across the agency.
- Maintains professional relationships with funders, community partners, and regulatory agencies.
- Upholds confidentiality and models ethical practice and leadership throughout the agency.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Effective leadership and team-building skills with a collaborative and diplomatic approach.
- Advanced knowledge of accreditation standards and Medicaid rules.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and general computer use.
- Superior organizational skills, ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- High level of professional integrity, confidentiality, and ethical judgment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required, master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in the social service or child welfare field.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical Demands: Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, talks and hears. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and/or crouch.
- Vision Requirements: Requires close, distance, peripheral and depth perception vision as well as the ability to focus.
- Weight Lifted or Force Exerted: Frequently moves up to 10 lbs., occasionally moves up to 25 pounds.
- Environmental: Mainly indoor, office environment conditions; indoor air quality is good, and temperature is controlled.
- Noise Environment: Moderate noise such as in a business office with equipment and light traffic.
- Travel: This position requires some regional/domestic travel required to project/partner locations.
Equipment Used:
- Personal vehicle, valid Illinois Driver's License and proof of full insurance coverage.
