The Mapleton Foundry is one of the largest in the United States and home to the largest core making machine in the world! Working at the foundry is hard work that demands focus and safety, quality, and commitment to helping our customers build a better world.
With over 800 employees at the foundry, we are looking for someone who can support process development projects for the continuous improvement of the safety, quality, velocity and cost of manufacturing.
Role Description:
Performs regular and simple facility maintenance and infrastructure support activities needed in a manufacturing plant.
What you will do:
- Performing or assisting in routine facilities maintenance or construction work.
- Oversee the design, construction, operations, and maintenance of the facilities infrastructure to support HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Monitoring and maintaining parts and tools inventory for infrastructure components and services.
- Serving as first line of support for building service problems and work requests.
- Assisting facility engineers and supporting manufacturing and other related departments.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent experience desired
Skills you will have:
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Basic knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Plant Facilities Management: Working knowledge of processes, methodologies and techniques used to manage plant facilities; ability to handle the full spectrum of activities for managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure.
Problem Solving: Working knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Project Management: Working knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Technical Troubleshooting: Working knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation.
Top candidates will possess:
- Degree preference in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Previous experience with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical routine facility maintenance
- Previous project management experience
- Previous experience with utilization of project management capital process
- Intermediate experience with SharePoint, teams, and excel data input and tracking

Summary Pay Range:
$97,530.00 - $146,290.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
