Job Summary:

This role provides exposure to a full product line with diversity between Mining, Quarry, Construction, and Compaction industries. The role offers an opportunity to understand a full business model and gain perspectives that enables development for future positions.
The Senior Configurator Systems Integration Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager. The primary focus will be to lead the product team to achieve long-term end-to-end competitive cost structure goals. This involves collaborating with the global extended Caterpillar team including business resources, engineering, manufacturing, commercial and supply chain to develop targets, identify projects to close gaps, and report out to leadership. You will also define and manage long-term competitive worldwide product cost targets and lead the cost Obeya process. You will stay abreast of innovations in Cat and competitive products to identify new opportunities and coach engineering teams on competitive cost structures and objectives.
What You Will Do:
- Developing world-wide competitive-based product cost targets by collaborating with global cost team members, business resources, and engineering to achieve competitive cost positions.
- Developing and maintaining competitive, external product cost comparisons
- Coordinating and maintaining full cost bill of material with engineering and business resources
- Leading cross-functional teams on global, high value cost reduction projects that will achieve reduction targets
- Lead Cost Obeya meetings, reporting to leadership the current state of our product costs, our line of sight to achieve target, and the actions in-process to achieve cost goals.
- Lead a team of regional cost project leaders to achieve end-to-end competitive cost structure goals by setting project-level vision and objectives to achieve target.
- Ensuring accurate and timely cost reporting.
- Researching and developing design parameters, performance characteristics, and technical specifications of new products and components.
- Guiding the evolution of the technical design, technical project planning, performance analysis, and development testing. Participating in supplier selection and capabilities assessment.
Education requirement:
- Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum

- Previous Six-Sigma experience
What skills you will have:

- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
