Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.

When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.

Join our Dynamic Energy Transfer (DET) Product Development and Electrification Integration team, where we’re redefining how energy flows through mining and heavy equipment systems. Our mission is to deliver products that meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency through well-planned validation strategies. We don’t just design energy transfer systems, we ensure they perform flawlessly in the toughest real-world conditions.

As a Development & Research Technology Specialist, you will serve as a technical leader and integrator, supporting customer technical queries, enabling cross‑division system compatibility, managing regulator submissions, and driving alignment across engineering, product support, and safety teams. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the direction of Caterpillar’s electrification strategy while ensuring our systems perform safely and reliably in real‑world applications.

What You’ll Do

  • Customer Support of electrification technical queries by collaborating with cross‑functional teams, navigating customer risk‑assessment processes and providing clear guidance that builds confidence in Caterpillar’s integrated electrification solutions.

  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration leading alignment of electrification safety and regulatory requirements, coordinating integration activities across engineering, validation, and product support teams to ensure consistent system performance and readiness.

  • Continuous Improvement & Technical Excellence driving development of scalable processes, tools, and documentation that enhance system integration across teams and enable support for an expanding electrification customer base.

Why This Role is Different

High Visibility: This role interfaces with customers, regulators, senior technical leaders, and cross-functional engineering groups.

Critical-to-Safety & Compliance: Your work directly supports the safe operation of high‑energy systems and ensures Caterpillar products meet global regulatory expectations.

What Skills You Will Have

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex problems, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.

  • Effective Communication: Skilled at translating complex technical topics for non‑technical audiences

  • Project & Coordination Skills: Ability to coordinate multi-team efforts, manage documentation flows, and meet regulatory or customer deadlines.

Education Requirements
