Job Summary:
Caterpillar is embarking on a bold digital transformation to revolutionize our dealers’ systems - seamless, intelligent, and designed for the future. We are developing a scalable, modern ERP solution for Caterpillar dealers, built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Azure Integration Services. This next-generation platform will leverage pre-configured business processes, optimized workflows and AI-powered automation to streamline operations, accelerate digital capability deployment, and elevate customer experience across our global dealer network.
As a Lead Digital Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enabling Agile delivery across complex cross-functional program teams. Your contributions will include driving transparency, fostering collaboration, and supporting continuous improvement to deliver high-quality ERP capabilities on time and within scope.
What You Will Do:
- Drive project cadence and delivery, ensuring milestones and dependencies stay on track
- Model exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement, providing clear updates, decisions, and alignment across cross‑functional teams
- Drive team accountability, reinforcing commitments, removing blockers, and maintaining focus on outcomes
- Maintain high organizational discipline, managing backlogs, schedules, risks, and documentation in alignment with PMO standards
- Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration, building strong relationships across business, technical, and partner teams
- Balance servant leadership and project control, coaching the team while also guiding priorities, timelines, and scope
- Design, implement, and reinforce delivery processes and standards that improve efficiency, strengthen predictability, and ensure consistent alignment with PMO practices across the program
What You Will Have:
- Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.
- IT Project Control and Reporting: Knowledge of project control and reporting; ability to monitor the vital signs of an IT project while managing its progress and delivery schedule.
- IT Project Management: Knowledge of project management; ability to plan, organize, monitor and control IT projects using appropriate technical resources.
Considerations For Top Candidates
- Extensive experience in program/project management concepts including project charters, scheduling and milestones, scope management, risk/issue management, governance and reporting
- Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and proven experience applying agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe)
- Proven ability to engage stakeholders and communicate effectively, with a strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong leadership presence, able to motivate teams, hold them accountable to commitments, and drive clarity and momentum in ambiguous situations.
- Strong cross‑functional collaborator, comfortable navigating multiple partners (internal and external) and resolving issues that span business, product, and engineering.
- Highly organized, detail‑driven, and structured, with a track record of managing backlogs, schedules, risks, and dependencies across multiple teams.
- Demonstrated experience building or refining delivery processes, with the ability to create predictable, efficient, and scalable ways of working that align to PMO standards
- Proficiency with Azure DevOps (ADO) and experience with tools such as Confluence, Miro and Aha!
- Experience navigating Caterpillar’s digital portfolio
Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
