Role Definition

The Facilities Technician (Materials Specialist – MRO Inventory & On-Site Coordinator) is responsible for managing Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) inventory and repairable parts while serving as the on-site coordinator for reliability and repair processes. This role ensures operational reliability, cost efficiency, and seamless communication between internal teams and external suppliers. The position provides comprehensive support to maintenance and other support services teams—including facilities, engineering, and reliability—by overseeing inventory control, repairable parts management, supplier coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you will do

  • Serve as the single point of contact for program oversight and coordination between internal teams and suppliers.

  • Manage MRO inventory and repairable parts, ensuring accurate stock levels, timely replenishment, and zero stock-outs.

  • Oversee procurement and supplier follow-up to secure cost-effective pricing and on-time delivery.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/CMMS and implement cycle counts and audits.

  • Develop and manage repairable parts programs, including tracking, refurbishment, and return-to-service processes.

  • Collaborate with maintenance and support services teams to forecast material needs and align inventory strategies.

  • Provide inventory data to establish optimal stocking levels and reduce excess or obsolete items.

  • Barcode parts for traceability and historical data to support failure analysis and reliability improvements.

  • Identify warranty recovery opportunities and cost-saving measures.

  • Support root cause analysis and reliability engineering initiatives to improve equipment availability and MTBF.

  • Prepare and review monthly performance metrics, including cost savings, repair quality, fill rates, and turnaround times.

  • Provide technical support for maintenance teams, including troubleshooting and emergency installation assistance.

  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements for material storage and handling.

Degree Requirement

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain (or related field) or equivalent experience desired.

Skills you must have

  • Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation.

  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM): Knowledge of total productive maintenance principles, methods, and processes; ability to maximize machinery effectiveness through active involvement of all supporting depart

Top candidates will also have

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in MRO inventory management, repairable parts coordination, or reliability support within an industrial environment.

  • Proficiency in ERP or CMMS systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles, procurement processes, and repairable parts management.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.

Summary Pay Range:

$72,360.00 - $108,540.00
