We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a IT Analyst (Technical Infrastructure) in Morton, IL.

Job Summary:

  • As an It Analyst (Technical Infrastructure) you will join the Logistics Information Services (LIS) - Technology & Compliance Services Group within PSLD. This position is one within a team of Server/Storage analysts responsible for designing, building, deploying, maintaining and supporting the Windows/Linux Computing, VMware, Hyper-V, Storage On prem and Azure Cloud solutions at multiple PSLD facilities. This analyst will also work with Server/Storage analysts on the enterprise network team to support some sites. Some travel may be required. Off-shift and weekend implementations/support are required occasionally.

  • This role is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation
  • This role is 1st shift
  • This role is 100% on-site with no opportunity for hybrid or remote schedules
  • This role requires up to 15% domestic travel

What You Will Do:

  • Maintain the infrastructure of IT systems that support the business to function efficiently.
  • Design solutions by assessing and aligning the current systems to best practices and comply to federal policies and procedures.
  • Administrate the middleware application server and automated workflow tools; work with server virtualization technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex infrastructure issues and ensuring optimal system performance and capacity.
  • Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting both Microsoft Windows Server environments and Linux-based systems (e.g., Red Hat, Ubuntu) environments
  • Expertise in virtualization platforms (VMware etc)
  • Experience with Azure
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, or PowerShell to automate server and storage management tasks and deployments.
  • Experience supporting NAS systems, including NetApp and Dell
  • Familiarity with security compliance standards, power and cooling systems, and physical server setup and maintenance
  • Manage updates, upgrades, and other maintenance tasks in both hardware and software areas, to make the network more efficient, cost-effective, and secure.

  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
  • Technology Advising: Knowledge of effective advisory methods and ability to provide valued information and advice to clients regarding products, technologies, services and solutions for a specific technology domain.
  • Hardware Infrastructure: Knowledge of computer architecture and systems programming; ability to design, build and integrate IT hardware into multi-platforms for the organization.
  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer programming
  • Strong knowledge in Windows/Linux based systems
  • Expertise in virtualization platforms (VMware etc)
  • Strong teamwork, communication & customer service skills
  • Cisco, Netapp hardware expertise
  • Linux certifications
  • 8+ years of professional experience.

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
